Rava kheer recipe with step by step photos.
Rava kheer or sooji ki kheer is a quick and easy pudding made with rava/sooji(Semolina). Rava is roasted in ghee and then cooked in milk in this recipe. It can be served hot or chilledwith lots of dry fruits! It is a perfect sweet recipe for any festival or occassion.

Rava Kheer Recipe


Servings: 4-5
Prepration Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

Rava/Sooji - 1 cup
Milk(Full fat) - 1 litre
Ghee - 2 Tbsp
Jaggery - 1.5 cups or as per taste
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Dry fruits - Handful

Rava kheer recipe:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan.
  2. Add rava and roast it on low flame until it is golden brown in colour.
  3. Add milk and allow it to boil on low flame. This will take approximately 10 minutes. It depends on how much thick you want the kheer to be. 
  4. Add dry fruits when it thickens.
  5. Turn off the stove then add jaggery powder. Sugar can be the substitute of jaggery.
  6. Add cardamom powder. Mix everything well.
  7. Serve it hot or chilled. Garnish it with more dry fruits before serving.

Recipe notes:

  1. Rava should be roasted on very low flame. 
  2. Sweetness can be adjusted based on your taste.
  3. Be careful while adding jaggery in milk products. Turn off the stove before adding jaggery else milk might curdle.
