Sewayi recipe or vermicelli kheer recipe with step by step photos.
Sewayi is a famous sweet in India. It can be prepared with both thick vermicelli or with the finer one. In this recipe, I have used later. However, the same recipe can be used for the thicker one. Sewayi is first shallow fried in ghee and then simmered in milk to prepare this delicious sweet. Here goes the step by step recipe of sewayi with photos...
Ingredients:
Milk(Full fat) - 500 mlSewai - 1/2 cup
Jaggery/ Sugar - 1/3 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Dry fruits(Chopped) - Handful
Ghee - 1 Tablespoon
Sewai Recipe:
- Heat ghee in a kadhai.
- Add Sewai. Saute it until it becomes little dark in colour.
- Add Milk. Allow it to boil and then simmer for about 10 minutes.
- If you want it to be a little thicker then let it cook for some more time.
- Otherwise add jaggery powder or sugar powder, Cardamom powder and dry fruits. You can add dry fruits after shallow frying them in ghee or directly. It will taste good in both the ways.
- Sewai is ready! Serve it hot or chilled. Don't forget to garnish it with dry fruits before serving.
